Don we now our festive sweaters! It’s time to kick off the Holiday season with the SSO.
Conductor Maria Fuller returns the SSO to lead us in all your seasonal favourites. She conducted the SSO last season and we are excited to have her on stage at TCU Place.
Singer Falynn Baptiste joins us to share her musical gifts and some beloved Christmas carols sung in Cree. As an educator she saw the growing absence of young Cree language speakers. This motivated her to record contemporary music in Indigenous languages to serve as a bridge connecting the past to the present, and youth to their Indigenous identity.
This concert is approximately 70 minutes and without intermission.
With great anticipation and careful planning, the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra (SSO) is heading back to the big stage. We can’t wait to share the music together. The SSO is taking every possible measure to ensure the safety of audience members and musicians at performances. Proof of vaccination, or a recent negative Covid-19 test (within 24-72 hours of concert start time), is required at the door along with a valid photo ID.
