The Newsboys have achieved remarkable success, selling over six million albums, earning five gold records, more than 25 No. 1 radio hits, and four Grammy nominations. Yet, In the Hands of God revisits their roots, capturing the raw energy of a young Australian band striving to make its mark. This album channels that drive, filling each track with a powerful sense of urgency and nostalgia.

"The Way We Roll" launches with punchy guitars, pulsing beats, and gritty vocals, capturing the hardships they faced starting out. "No Grave" continues with pounding chords and introspective lyrics about overcoming death. Meanwhile, tracks like "Glorious" and the title song take a contemplative turn, blending gratitude with worship. Adding humor, "My Friend Jesus" describes the frustration of waiting on hold, while "This Is Your Life" layers guitars over electro-pop beats.

This album also marks Peter Furler’s final role as lead vocalist, as Grammy-winning Michael Tait of dc Talk steps in. Furler sees this as an opportunity for growth: "The Newsboys have always been about purpose and collaboration, beyond just who’s on stage."

The partnership between Furler and longtime collaborator Steve Taylor remains, and fresh production talent like Max Hsu and returning guitarist Jody Davis add new dimensions.
